BACKGROUND

Friends of the Earth (HK) [FoE (HK)] joining hands with The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited to organize the 2nd e-Card Design Competition under the Green Christmas programme entitled Wish a Green World this Xmas. Members of the public are invited to make a wish for a green Christmas and a green year to come. The winning e-Cards will be shared with many people who visit the homepage of FoE (HK).

Millions of hectares of forest lands are destroyed every year. Since 1995, FoE (HK) has been organizing different Green Christmas programmes by mobilizing the community to reduce sending paper cards and to recycle old ones. In order to have a better and eco-friendly way to share the joy of Christmas, electronic card comes to a choice.

The 1st e-Card Design Competition Results (2007)
OBJECTIVES

  1. To provide a platform for the public to produce a creative Christmas card with an environmental message to urge individuals to protect the environment and conserve natural resources.
  2. To provide an opportunity for all sectors of the public to greet the public via an eco-friendly manner instead of sending the traditional paper-made Christmas cards.
  3. To raise public awareness of all kinds of things related to environmental protection over the festive season.
