Dr. Vivian Wong, Chairperson of Friends of the Earth (HK) presented electronic certificate of appreciation to the guests officiating at the “Trees.COOLiving” kick off ceremony. The e-cards are available on “Trees.COOLiving” website to donors.  The paper liner which symbolized the launch of the campaign has been used in a previous campaigning activity. The reuse of the prop is aimed to demonstrate how we could reduce waste by breaking convention.
Power Smart Energy Saving Contest 2015
Power Smart Energy Saving Contest 2015 celebrates its 10th anniversary and commenced on 1 July.
FoE (HK) was honoured to have Mr. Wong Kam-sing, JP, Secretary for the Environment, as the officiating guest at the opening ceremony on 14 June. At the venue, a mini climate change exhibition was set up in order to raise the public awareness of the environment and the importance of energy saving.

Energy Forum
FoE (HK) organised its first Energy Forum, titled "A View from Renewable Energy", at Zero Carbon Building on 18 June. Co-organised by the Civic Exchange, the Climate Group and Haesco, over 100 participants attended the event. Internationally acclaimed professionals, university professors and energy consultants spoke on current and future development of renewable energy. The purpose of the forum was to evaluate the practicality of long term and large-scale adoption of renewable energy for promoting environmental, social and economic security in Hong Kong.
“Waste.No Way!” starts from daily lives
FoE (HK) organised its first World Environment Day project – “Waste.No Way!” – at Zero Carbon Building on 5 June, with the full support from Shao Ming Lo Foundation. Various well-known local fashion design brands, NGOs and social enterprises were invited to introduce upcycled fashion, textile recycling, food rescue and green camp to the participants, to spread the ideas of the “COOLest” green lifestyle and waste reduction. The participants even took the “Zero Waste Pledge” set by the organisation during the event in hope of a future with zero waste to landfill.

The 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of FoE (HK) will be on 25 July 2015 (Saturday) at FoE (HK)'s office.
