Event Details
| 1. For the route and planting venue in Tree Planting Challenge 2012, is it difficult? |
- Participants should be prepared for a higher than average level of physical challenge.
- The length of the route is around 10-13km. Excluding the tree planting task, participants may take 4 hours to finish
the run. To achieve a participants' award, you need to finish the run and tree planting task in 6 hours. So, be fast!
- In general: 2 Stars; Planting site - slope: 3 to 4 Stars (On the scale from 1 to 5, where 1 is the easiest)
- It is approximately 25 minutes walk from Seedling Distribution Point to the planting site

| 2. What is the weight of the tree seedlings? |
The weight of 12 seedlings is approximately 8 kg.
Participants need to prepare the tools to carry seedlings from collection points (CP1) to planting site (CP2)
so keep in mind the weight of your tools.

| 3. Do I need to participate in Tree Planting School? |
Participants who join for the first time MUST attend either one of the two sessions. The
team number cloth and T-shirt will be distributed at the tree planting training workshop. Click

| 4. Do we need any special preparation for the event? |

| 5. Are the seedling carrying tools to be made of reused and recycled materials? |
- With your creativity and intelligence, participants need to design the most efficient way to carry the tools and seedlings
MANUALLY, echoing this year¡¦s theme of design "Tree and Water Resources". Use of reusable material is highly preferred,
followed by recycled material. All tools deployed should be safe to use so as not to cause any harm to yourself or others.
- Five teams / individuals who design the most creative, user-friendly, environmental-friendly methods that reflect the theme
of this year to deliver the seedlings, will be awarded "The Smartest Tree Planting Team".

| 6. Is there any quota limit? |
With the limited planting area, the quota is 700 participants (The limited quota is issued
on a First come first serve basis) |

| 7. When will the enrollment start? |
The enrollment starts at 10:00am on 8 Feb 2012, and ends on 16 Mar 2012 (Postal application
is based on the postmark date; online application closes at 6pm) |

To reduce paper use, the online application process is the preferred method.

| 9. Do I need to submit the real-time minimum donation upon online registration? |
Yes, it is required to submit the minimum donation by using the online application. The online payment system is provided and supported by The Bank of East Asia.

| 10. Do all Youth Team members need to be in the age range of 15-17? |
As a Youth Team, ALL 4 members must be of age 15-17 (Qualified Date of Birth: 23 Apr 1994 ¡V
22 Apr 1997). Copies of student identity card and HKID card of ALL members should be attached when submitting the minimum
donation. Your Participation right will only be confirmed once we receive the age proof. Please submit your proof within 5
working days after your application being submitted. |

| 11. How can I support Friends of the Earth (HK) by donations? |
You could submit your donations by one of the following methods,
(1) By visiting the Challengers page (available from late March) and submitting the donation via Visa / Master credit card.
(2) Writing a cheque crossed and payable to "Friends of the Earth (HK) Charity Ltd." (Address: Room 1301-1302, 13/F, Block A,
Sea View Estate, 2 Watson Road, Hong Kong)
(3) By Bank Deposit/Transfer of your donation to 'Friends of the Earth (HK) Charity Ltd.' (HSBC 567-320437-002). Please fax
2529-2777 or email tpc@foe.org.hk the transaction slip to us.
(4) By hand to the office of Friends of the Earth (HK)

| 12. How can I support my friends joining this meaningful event by donations?
|
(1) By visiting Challengers page (available from late March) and searching for your friends' team page, where you could leave
your messages and submit the donations via Visa / Master credit card.
(2) Fill in your friends donation form and submit your donations to your friend. They will then help submit the donations to
Friends of the Earth (HK).

| 13. After submitting minimum donation, can I continue to raise donations? |
Participants can continue to raise donations after submitting their minimum donations via
the online Challengers page (available from late March) and the
paper donation form. To be qualified in competing for the Charity Tree
Planting Award, all additional donations and the donation form must be sent to Friends of the Earth (HK) on or before 31 May 2012.

| 14. Can I obtain a tax-relief donation receipt? |
Participants have to submit the donation form if a donation receipt is needed. Tax-relief
receipts will be provided to those with donation amounts of HK$ 100 or above. Receipts will be issued and posted to team
leader in July and August. |

Challengers Page and Replacement of Team Members
| 15. When can I obtain the login number and password for the challengers page? |
Each team/individual has their own webpage for uploading photos and team/ participant sharing, so
invite your friends to support you by making a donation. The login number and password will be sent to team leaders via email
before 29 April 2012. |

| 16. If anyone of the team cannot attend on event day after registration
can the member be replaced? |
- Yes, though see the important note below and note that you can only change team members by notifying us on 11-13
April 2012.
- For those who want to replace a team member(s), please visit your own
challengers page for the online replacement
process, or fill in the "Team Member Replacement Form" and submit to Friends of the Earth (HK) on 11-13 April 2012 by fax
(number: 2529 2777) or email (tpc@foe.org.hk) for approval.
- All replacement applications are only allowed to be submitted within the 3 days replacement period, 11-13 April 2012
Important note¡G
Once the application is confirmed, team leader cannot be replaced otherwise the team will be disqualified. NO replacement
is allowed for Individual participant.
No team member replacement will be accepted after the above-mentioned period.

Event Logistic
| 17. Will there be any luggage storage facilities on the event day? |
Luggage storage facilities are NOT available. Please take care of your personal belongings.
Tree planting challenge allows you to experience the realistic working environment of tree planting. Taking care of your
personal belongings and equipments is part of the experience. |

| 18. Will there be any water station on the event day? |
Yes, though Participants should bring their own drinking water (at least 1 litre per person)
to prevent dehydration due to the high physical demand from tree-planting and hiking under hot weather. For locations of
water stations, please refer to the Route Map. For environmental sake,
NO container will be provided. Please bring your own recyclable or reusable bottles. |

| 19. What kinds of tools are needed? |
- Shovel (provided by FoE)
- Bring your own gloves
- Bring / Make your own container to carry the seedlings
- Plan what you are going to carry and bring your own essentials
