Used Clothes Recycling Programme
Friends of the Earth (HK) launches the "Used Clothes Recycling Programme" to collect used clothes, socks, shoes, towels and handbags from private and public housing estates since 2001, and have collected over 4,000 tonnes of used clothes. The collected clothes will be sorted, and exported to neighbouring countries as second hand goods while those worn out ones will be turned into wipers for industrial use. To save the environment, reduce waste. Please join the "Used Clothes Recycling Programme".

What will happen to the used clothes All collected clothes will be reused or recycled or exported after checking and sorting. We will also donate part of those useable clothes to some voluntary organizations. Worn-out clothes will be used as mop while those in good condition will be exported to the neighbouring countries where secondhand clothes are in huge demand.
If any non-profit organization needs some clothes to donate to people in need, please contact Ms. Quintina Ho at 2528-5588 or send the e-mail to quintinaho@foe.org.hk , we shall arrange accordingly.
Proceeds from Recycling Environmental education and promotion play an important role in improving the environment. Recyclers participated in the "Used Clothes Recycling Programme" will donate part of the proceeds to FoE (HK) for promoting environmental education in Hong Kong.
How to join the programme? If any property management offices, estates, schools and community groups would like to join this Used Clothes Recycling Programme, please download the application form of used clothes recyclingand then fax (via 2529-2777)or e-mail the following information(in both Chinese and English) quintinaho@foe.org.hk , we shall arrange accordingly.
