「夠照」就好！
今年夏至 6.21
亞洲聯線熄燈一小時
(新聞稿 2008/4/13) 今年六月，將會是香港的「熄燈月」；熄燈的高潮，則是6月21日(周六)夏至當晚串連亞洲城市熄燈一小時。香港地球之友結合台灣的荒野保護協會，今日率先宣告當晚熄燈，以實際行動節約能源，減少空氣污染物，為愈來愈熱的地球先生降溫，同時反思消耗型的生活模式。
據本會的聯繫，目前答允在6.21響應熄燈的國家或城市，包括中國的北京、廣州，台灣的台北、新竹，台中、台南和高雄多個縣市，還有東京等日本城市，預計屆時參與熄燈的人數，至少以百萬計。
香港版的熄燈行動代號，取名「夠照」，喻意城市一味鬥光，不代表愈繁榮，反而會浪費能源、製造更多污染和光滋擾。總結一句：夠照就好。
「夠照」的重頭戲是6.21的熄燈夜。當晚，香港地球之友會在中環渣打花園舉辦熄燈晚會，八時正與幻彩詠香江同步登場，並以「真人版」的幻彩詠香江揭開晚會序幕，進而有一連串娛樂中帶反思的項目，帶領公眾重新認識燈光，重新認識香港這顆東方之珠是如何亮起來。活動的高潮，是萬眾期待的八點半熄燈倒數儀式。
目前，連同香港環境保護署在內，加上維港兩岸的地標建築及戶外大型招牌將會在當晚同步關燈，活動已得到20個單位全力支持，以實際行動關顧空氣污染和全球氣候變化，包括：匯豐銀行HSBC、恒生銀行、渣打銀行、國際金融中心一期、立法會大樓、中環廣場、創紀之城五期、日立、雅虎香港、蘇黎世保險集團(香港)、信安、安聯集團、宏利、Epson HK Ltd.、ING、Olympus、東芝、三星香港、中華遊樂會。
「1997年至2005年之間，香港人口增長才4.9%，但人均照明耗電量卻不成比地增加了10%，反映我們耗用太多的能源，製造太多污染和光滋擾。」香港地球之友總幹事劉祉鋒表示，「熄燈，無法即時改變氣候變化等問題，但卻是一種象徵，明確宣示大家願意坐言而行，做好節能減排和對抗光滋擾，讓東方之珠不致成為低效能的大燈泡。」
荒野保護協會是台灣熄燈運動的大旗手，有舉辦三年相關活動的豐富經驗。協會理事長林耀國說，「以2007年為例，我們用『拔插頭、走戶外』作為活動主題，全台有9個縣市參與，54棟建築配合關掉景觀燈、65萬民眾上網登錄同步響應，台灣電力公司於當天活動結束後，估算關燈70分鐘共省下了30萬度電，相當減少排放187噸的二氧化碳。」因此，他強調絕不能小看個人或小團體的力量。
香港地球之友下周起又會推出《夠照》攝影展、「唔該熄燈 -- 你最想關掉的大廈燈飾」網上選舉、出版香港第一本探討光污染的專書《夠照》、舉辦城市燈光導賞團等多項活動，為六月份的「熄燈月」熱身 (活動詳見表一)。本會又呼籲全港市民在6.21當晚，一起熄燈。

《夠照》理念如何使用燈光，反映一種生活品味和內涵。別一味比拼光度，多關顧及珍惜資源，減少對民居及星空的滋擾，這顆東方之珠會更美。可惜，在急促的步伐下，我們失卻了對過度耗用能源的敏感度，也意識不到東方之珠正在蒙塵。
本會推出《夠照》計劃 (原名「拆解東方之珠」)，透過攝影集、文字記錄、城市燈光導賞團等形式，反思燈光文化及生活價值，重新詮釋東方之珠在「經濟繁榮」以外的涵義。
我們又要求政府不要迴避光污染的問題，應盡速探討：
(1) 光污染對公眾的影響範圍及程度，提出解決光害的對策；
(2) 優先檢討建築物條例，研究加設外牆照明在光度及照射角度的指引；
(3) 研究成立「保護星空」的可行性；及
(4) 推出有關光污染的公眾宣傳教育。

樓宇外牆燈光不見了，取而代之的是維港上空久違了的星光。究竟星光與燈光是否可以共存？不妨在熄燈晚會內想一想。
