Since hot summer, the Jockey Club COOL Neighbours for Energy Saving Exhibition has reached the community in various districts, such as Shatin, Kwun Tong and Chai Wan. In the coming month, we will go to chit chat with the public in Citywalk 2, Tsuen Wan (6 - 12 September) & Dragon Centre, Shamshuipo (24- 26 September). Apart from information sharing on energy saving tips, we will keep extending public engagement to download apps and play interactive games to learn the merits of Smart Energy Saving. Making small changes in your daily life can make a big impact on environment. Please come and join us!

Mrs. Mei Ng Re-elected Chairperson of Board of Governors |
|
FoE (HK) held the meeting of the Board of Governors, Mrs. Mei Ng, BBS (first row, fourth from the right) was re-elected as the Chairperson of the Board of Governors for the 2018/2019 session, Mr. Simon Mak (first row, third from the right) the elected Vice-Chairperson, Mrs. Karen Barretto (second row, first from left) the elected Honorary Secretary and Mr. Anthony Cheung (first row, the first form left) the elected Honorary Treasurer, effective from 30th August.
Ms. Mei Ng, BBS thanked the members of Board of Governors for placing their trust in her. She also said to continue to lead FoE (HK) to protect our local and regional environment.

In the last decade, we have seen evolution and advancement in what CSR can achieve. Given the dire global situation, we urge corporations to take a stronger position to turn the clock around. Learn More About Trees via the Latest Radio Interview
|
The Jockey Club Smart City Tree Management Project’s Capacity Building Program for the local tertiary students would shortly begin in September. Lately, we have attended an interview by Denise Mak of Commercial Radio 881903 to share more about the programme, urban forestry and biodiversity.

Green Delights in Estates
|
With assistance of volunteers from The Hong Kong Society for the Aged and Hong Kong Baptist University, Home Greening Workshop under Hong Kong Housing Authority’s "Green Delight in Estates” was held successfully. Apart from learning to plant with home compost, participants could also enjoy precious family time throughout the event.
All events under this year’s Green Delight in Estates are now finished. FoE (HK) would like to thank for the support and participation of all 12 participating estates. We will continue to engage estate buddies for waste reduction and recycling in the years to come.

Creativity in Upcycling Competition

The prize-giving ceremony of "Creativity in Upcycling Competition” was successfully held by FoE (HK) and Bayard Presse Asia. Congratulations to all the winners! Hopefully all participants were inspired and will strive to reduce waste in their daily life.
